Steve lives in Richmond, near Nelson, with his wife, Liz. After working in social housing and as a
university lecturer in the UK, Steve immigrated to New Zealand in 1994 and worked with several
community organisations in Nelson. He was treasurer of the Nelson branch of the New Zealand
Society of Authors.
